Yoga Therapy for Back Pain Program
With back and neck pain affecting an estimated 80% of 35-60 years olds, we’ve nearly all experienced the frustrating and debilitating process of dealing with ongoing back, neck or shoulder pain. It is distracting and miserable and it more than often affects our moods, our energy, and even our appetites, as well as our spine and posture. It can seem that a healthy, pain-free body is a distant memory as we sit at our computers, desks and steering wheels for hours every week.
Given Yoga Therapy is still rare in South Africa, the Yoga Therapy for Back Pain Program teaches clients to overcome the inactivity, inflexibility and stresses of back pain in a unique way. The program fuses yoga and Ayurvedic supplement recommendations to focus on strengthening your core muscles and introducing flexibility and freedom to your hips, back and neck - relieving pain and giving you the tools and knowledge to maintain a happy, healthy spine.
Your one-on-one session will review your current pain or tension areas and desired goals. As the program continues you will focus on mindful movement, therapeutic yogic poses, breathing tools, and relaxation techniques to unwind pain/strain/tension patterns, and retrain neuromuscular patterns improving joint mobility, joint stability, core stability, postural patterns, circulation and stress levels in the body. You will receive a written recommendation following your session with movements and practices to use between sessions, as well as Ayurvedic supplement support and nutritional guidelines and advice to support a healthy and preventative daily routine and diet.
